Germanwings A319 at London on Jun 23rd 2014, flaps control problems

A Germanwings Airbus A319-100, registration D-AGWX performing flight 4U-460 from Cologne (Germany) to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was descending towards London when the crew stopped the descent at FL080 reporting a flaps problem. The crew subsequently decided to divert to Hamburg (Germany), climbed the aircraft to FL330 and landed safely in Hamburg at a normal speed about 70 minutes after aborting the approach to London.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration D-AGWW reached London with a delay of 4 hours.

A passenger reported that on approach to London the aircraft entered a holding pattern. A few minutes later the captain announced that there was a malfunction of one of two computers controlling the flaps extension, the malfunction could only be fixed in Hamburg. After landing a replacement aircraft was ready to depart.
