Expressjet E145 near Wichita on Jan 27th 2014, flight control problems

An Expressjet Embraer ERJ-145 on behalf of United, registration N12157 performing flight EV-6099/UA-6099 from Shreveport,LA to Denver,CO (USA) with 39 people on board, was enroute at FL360 about 170nm southwest of Wichita,KS (USA) when the crew reported problems with the left hand aileron. The crew descended the aircraft to FL240 and decided to divert to Wichita. The crew advised they would prefer right hand turns, approach subsequently vectored the aircraft for the approach using right hand turns only. The aircraft landed safely on Wichita's Midcontinent Airport's runway 01L about 45 minutes after the problem surfaced.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto next day's flight UA-1674 out of Wichita to Denver and reached Denver with a delay of 16 hours.
