Expressjet CRJ7 near Pittsburgh on Mar 14th 2014, engine shut down in flight

An Expressjet Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N608QX performing flight EV-5031/DL-5031 from Atlanta,GA (USA) to Toronto,ON (Canada), was enroute at FL350 about 130nm southwest of Pittsburgh,PA (USA) when the crew needed to shut an engine (CF34) down. The aircraft diverted to Pittsburgh for a safe landing about about 25 minutes later.

A passenger reported the crew announced an overheat indication for an engine, which needed to be shut down. After landing passengers were advised that a replacement aircraft had been located in Detroit, however, no crew was available. The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were offered a bus transfer to Toronto which would take about 6-7 hours including customs.
