Emirates A388 at Munich on Feb 24th 2014, slats failure

An Emirates Airlines Airbus A380-800, registration A6-EDZ performing flight EK-49 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Munich (Germany), was on final approach to Munich's runway 08L descending through about 2000 feet when the crew received slats failure indications and went around. The aircraft climbed to 5000 feet to work the relevant checklists and landed safely on runway 08L at what appeared to be a normal speed about 20 minutes later.

The return flight EK-50 was cancelled.

The incident aircraft was able to depart Munich the following day as positioning flight EK-3002 to Dubai, but did not resume service so far (standing 81 hours after landing in Munich).
