Delta MD88 near Raleigh/Durham on Apr 15th 2014, airframe vibrations
A Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-88, registration N959DL performing flight DL-2339 from Washington National,DC to Atlanta,GA (USA) with 149 passengers and 7 crew, was climbing out of Washington's Ronald Reagan National Airport when the crew stopped the climb at 11,000 feet due to unknown airframe vibrations and decided to divert to Raleigh/Durham,NC for a safe landing about one hour after departure.
The airline reported maintenance identified the vibrations came a landing gear door which was not completely ajar. The door was adjusted and the aircraft was released to continue the flight.
The aircraft reached Atlanta with a delay of 2.5 hours.
