Delta B763 over Pacific on May 22nd 2014, engine problems
A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N192DN performing flight DL-611 (dep May 21st) from Honolulu,HI (USA) to Nagoya (Japan), was enroute at FL360 over the Pacific Ocean about 500nm northwest of Wake Islands (unorganized) when the crew decided to divert to Wake Islands due to mechanical problems with one of the engines (PW4060). The aircraft landed safely on Wake Islands about 90 minutes later.
A replacement Boeing 767-300 was flown in from Tokyo (Japan) as flight DL-9979, resumed the flight and reached Nagoya with a delay of 18.5 hours.
The engine is going to be replaced.
