Canadian North DH8A near Iqaluit on Mar 27th 2014, hydraulic failure

A Canadian North de Havilland Dash 8-100, registration C-GXCN performing flight 5T-610 from Igloolik,NU to Iqaluit,NU (Canada) with 9 passengers and 3 crew, was enroute about 40 minutes into the flight when the crew advised air traffic control, that the #2 hydraulic system had been lost. The crew declared an emergency for the arrival into Iqaluit advising they would not have nose gear steering. The aircraft continued to Iqaluit and landed safely in Iqaluit about 90 minutes later, shut down on the runway and was towed to the apron.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenace found the engine driven hydraulic pump had failed.
