Bulgarian Air Charter MD82 at Bourgas on Aug 21st 2014, bird strike
A Bulgarian Air Charter McDonnell Douglas MD-82 on behalf of Air Via, registration LZ-LDY performing flight VL-491 from Bourgas (Bulgaria) to Tel Aviv (Israel), was climbing through 1000 feet out of Bourgas' runway 04 when the aircraft flew through a flock of birds and received a number of bird strikes. The crew stopped the climb and returned to Bourgas for a safe landing on runway 22.
The aircraft was able to depart again after about 2 hours on the ground.
