American MD83 near Dallas on Sep 21st 2014, hydraulic failure
An American Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-83, registration N9409F performing flight AA-1359 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to Fresno,CA (USA) with 140 people on board, was enroute at FL320 about 170nm westnorthwest of Dallas, when the crew decided to return to Dallas due to a hydraulic failure. On approach to Dallas the crew requested delay vectors and an extended downwind explaining they needed to deploy the flaps electrically taking additional time. The aircraft landed safely on runway 36L, after landing the crew advised they did not need any assistance.
A replacement MD-83 registration N963TW reached Fresno with a delay of 11 hours.
