American B752 at Los Angeles on Apr 21st 2014, generator failure

An American Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N192AN performing flight AA-283 from Los Angeles,CA to Honolulu,HI (USA) with 190 people on board, was climbing out of Los Angeles' runway 25R when the crew stopped the climb at FL180 reporting a generator failure. The aircraft returned to Los Angeles for a safe landing on runway 24L about 30 minutes after departure.

The FAA reported at first the left hand engine had been shut down, later changed reporting the crew had declared emergency with engine trouble.

The airline however reported the aircraft landed with both engines running, the left hand generator had failed.
