Airnorth Regional E170 near Darwin on Mar 24th 2014, engine shut down in flight
An Airnorth Regional Embraer ERJ-170, registration VH-ANV performing flight TL-113 from Mcarthur River,NT to Darwin,NT (Australia) with 27 passengers and 5 crew, was enroute at FL400 about 270nm southeast of Darwin when the left hand engine (CF34) emitted two bangs and the aircraft jolted and shuddered. The crew shut the engine down, the aircraft drifted down and continued to Darwin where the aircraft landed safely about 50 minutes later.
The aircraft is still on the ground 10 days later.
