Aeroflot A320 at Nizhny Novgorod on Oct 7th 2014, engine shut down in flight
An Aeroflot Airbus A320-200, registration VP-BWD performing flight SU-1223 from Nizhny Novgorod to Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia), was climbing out of Nizhny Novgorod when the crew stopped the climb reporting they had needed to shut an engine (CFM56) down. The aircraft returned to Nizhny Novgorod for a safe landing about 30 minutes after departure.
The flight was cancelled.
