TSM DC93 at Saltillo on Jan 18th 2014, runway excursion and nose gear collapse on landing
An Aeronaves TSM (Transportes Saltillo Monterrey) Douglas DC-9-30, registration XA-UQM performing a freight flight from Tapachula to Saltillo (Mexico) with 4 crew, landed on Saltillo's runway 35 at about 04:30L (10:30Z) in poor visibility but went off the runway and came to a stop with the nose gear collapsed. The crew was taken to a hospital for checks, one of the pilots received minor injuries.
Authorities reported the accident happened when a bank of fog caused the crew to lose visual reference, the aircraft landed hard causing the nose gear to collapse and subsequently went off the runway. One of the pilots received minor injuries, the crew was taken to a hospital for checks.
