KLM B739 at Amsterdam on Oct 1st 2014, flaps problem, hot brakes

A KLM Boeing 737-900, registration PH-BXT performing flight KL-462 from Tel Aviv (Israel) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), was on final approach to Amsterdam's runway 22 when the crew went around from low height and climbed back to 2000 feet reporting hot brakes and requested delay vectors. The aircraft landed safely on runway 27 about 30 minutes after going around.

The occurrence aircraft was able to resume service about 8 hours after landing.

On Oct 22nd 2014 The Aviation Herald learned that the leading edge flaps remained in transit requiring a landing at about 180 KIAS. The crew determined from the QRH that the brakes would be in the caution zone after this landing and requested emergency services on standby to attend to the hot brakes.
